ISEOS2026 Best Paper Awards

The ISEOS2026 Best Paper Awards will be granted in order to encourage original, scientifically rigorous, and field-relevant studies in econometrics, operations research, and statistics.

Within the scope of the symposium, the best papers will be selected from among the submissions that have successfully completed the scientific review process and have been presented during the symposium.

Award Categories

  • Best Paper First Prize
  • Best Paper Second Prize
  • Best Paper Third Prize

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to grant special awards where deemed appropriate or not to grant an award if no paper of sufficient quality is identified.

Evaluation Committee

The ISEOS2026 Best Paper Awards will be determined by the Best Paper Evaluation Committee, which will be formed from among members of the Organizing Committee, Advisory Board, and Scientific Committee.

The committee shall consist of at least three members. Committee members may not participate in the evaluation of papers for which they have a conflict of interest.

Evaluation Process

Only papers that have been accepted into the symposium programme, have successfully completed the scientific review process by the Scientific/Referee Committee, and have been presented at the symposium are eligible for award consideration.

Authors wishing to participate in the award evaluation process are required to submit the full texts of their papers to eyi2026@cbu.edu.tr by the deadline specified in the symposium calendar. The evaluation will be conducted on the basis of the full papers and in accordance with predetermined scientific criteria.

Among the papers presented orally in the symposium programme and meeting the eligibility requirements, the highest-scoring studies will be granted the Best Paper Award by decision of the Best Paper Evaluation Committee.

Papers for which the full text is not submitted by the specified deadline will not be included in the award evaluation process.

Candidate papers will be evaluated by the Best Paper Evaluation Committee through a two-stage process. Committee members will assess candidate papers independently of one another.

Stage 1: Scientific Quality

  • Originality of the research
  • Scientific significance of the research problem
  • Contribution to the literature
  • Appropriateness of the methodology employed
  • Accuracy and adequacy of the analyses
  • Reliability of the findings
  • Scientific contribution of the conclusions

Stage 2: Presentation Performance

  • Clarity and organization of the presentation
  • Effective communication of the scientific content
  • Effective use of visual materials
  • Time management
  • Adequacy of responses to questions

Scoring Principles

In both stages, committee members will evaluate each assessment criterion on a scale from 1 to 5. The average score obtained from the relevant criteria will be used as the basis for calculating the committee score for the corresponding stage.

The final score will be calculated by weighting the committee evaluations for scientific quality and presentation performance at 70% and 30%, respectively.

Based on the evaluation conducted by the committee, the papers receiving the highest final scores will be deemed eligible for the first, second, and third prizes, respectively. In the event of a tie, the scientific quality score will be considered first. If the tie persists, the Best Paper Evaluation Committee will make the final decision.

Presentation of the Awards

Papers deemed worthy of an award will be announced during the closing ceremony of the symposium, and award certificates will be presented to the authors.

Award-winning papers will also be announced on the official website of the symposium.

Other Provisions

  • The evaluation process will be conducted in accordance with the principle of confidentiality.
  • The committee may decide not to grant an award where deemed necessary.
  • The decisions of the committee are final.
  • The authority to decide on matters not covered by these award principles belongs to the Organizing Committee.
